Torchwood Soho The Unbegotten

The 1950s Torchwood Soho team hunt the ghosts of London’s past in a brand-new box set of chilling full-cast audio drama, released today by Big Finish Productions.

In a three-hour audio adventure, featuring immersive sound and cinematic music, agent Norton Folgate (Samuel Barnett) investigates an eerie post-war bombsite alongside his ex-boyfriend, journalist Gideon Lyme (Joe Shire), and Sergeant Andy Davidson (Tom Price).

Lizbeth Hayhoe (Dervla Kirwan) – a woman ahead of her time and back from the dead – meets flirtatious pub landlady, Mia (Saffron Coomber), while searching for clues. And the educated but manipulative politician, Armitage (played by Class star, Greg Austin), makes a strong impression on Norton…

Torchwood Soho: The Unbegotten, written by James Goss, is now available to own for just £19.99 (collector’s edition CD box set + download) £16.99 (download only), exclusively from www.bigfinish.com.

Mandeville Walks

As London falls, everyone turns to Norton Folgate.

Samuel Barnett said: “It’s always a pleasure to record more Torchwood Soho. When we were recording during the COVID-19 pandemic we weren’t able to be in the same room and it felt quite sad, so it’s lovely to be back in the studio all together. It does help that we know each other well and are fond of each other as human beings!”

Joe Shire added: “It’s always great to come back to this part and Sam makes it really easy to act alongside him. The journeys that we go on in each episode and the arcs that these characters go through are so big. It’s a lot of fun and we want to keep Norton and Gideon’s relationship fresh and exciting for the listeners. Gideon has very much grown as a person. He has teeth now and bites back!”

Tom Price said: “It’s nice to see Andy putting his proper Sherlock Holmes boots on – asking questions and working stuff out. As the actor performing those lines, it’s very hard when Andy makes conclusions to not go ‘Yes Andy, you genius!’. It’s been a lot of fun.”

Big Finish listeners can catch up on and purchase the previous Torchwood Soho releases, Ashenden and Parasite, together in a bundle for just £44 (collector’s edition CD box set + download) or £38 (download only).
