“Wonder Woman” is released in cinemas around the world next summer when Gal Gadot returns as the title character in the epic action adventure from director Patty Jenkins. Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.
Joining Gadot in the international cast are Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, David Thewlis, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Ewen Bremner and Saïd Taghmaoui. Wonder Woman was created by William Moulton Marston.
Wonder Woman is scheduled for release on June 2, 2017, and will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
Warner Bros. UK is pleased to reveal the official first look image for the release of the highly anticipated action adventure, Wonder Woman.
Directed by Patty Jenkins (“Monster,” AMC’s “The Killing”) and starring Gal Gadot (the “Fast & Furious” movies) in the titular role, Wonder Woman made her big screen debut this weekend in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” but the new film will mark her first time headlining a feature.
The film also stars Chris Pine (the “Star Trek” films) as Captain Steve Trevor, Robin Wright (“The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” Netflix’s “House of Cards”), Danny Huston (“Clash of the Titans,” “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”), David Thewlis (the “Harry Potter” films, “The Theory of Everything”), Ewen Bremner (“Exodus: Gods and Kings,” “Snowpiercer”), Saïd Taghmaoui (“American Hustle”), Elena Anaya (“The Skin I Live In”) and Lucy Davis (“Shaun of the Dead”).
The film is being produced by Charles Roven, Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder, with Richard Suckle, Stephen Jones, Wesley Coller, Geoff Johns and Rebecca Roven serving as executive producers.
Joining Jenkins behind the camera are director of photography Matthew Jensen (“Chronicle,” “Fantastic Four,” HBO’s “Game of Thrones”), Oscar-nominated production designer Aline Bonetto (“Amélie,” “A Very Long Engagement,” “Pan”), and Oscar-winning editor Martin Walsh (“Chicago,” “Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit,” “V for Vendetta”), and Oscar-winning costume designer Lindy Hemming (“The Dark Knight” trilogy, “Topsy-Turvy”).
Set to open in 2017, the Wonder Woman feature film is based on characters created by William Moulton Marston, appearing in comic books published by DC Entertainment. It will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
It?s been 5 long months since Lego unveiled the prototype figures for its new line of Marvel & DC superhero minifigures at the San Diego Comic-Con. Since then there has been much speculation as to what we can expect from the forthcoming sets, and when they?re likely to arrive. Well, the wait is almost over, and details are starting filter out of Jutland.
DC fans will be the first to get their fix, with sets featuring Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and Lex Luthor scheduled to launch in January 2012. However, this date may actually move forward as the first Ninjago sets, scheduled to launch in January 2011, actually appeared in shops a few weeks before Christmas 2010. If you?re lucky you may well be able to surprise the comic book guy (or girl!) in your life with some injection-moulded superheroes this Christmas.
The prices for the first sets will range from around ?5.99 for 6858 Catwoman Catcycle City Chase (which features an excellent Batman-with-glider figure) to ?18.99 for the superb 6862 Superman vs Power Armour Lex Luthor, that also includes a bonus comic book and Wonder Woman figure.
It?s hoped that other, larger sets such as the massive 6860 Batcave and 6864 Batmobile and the Two-Face Chase will launch in January but the smart money?s on them being held back until The Dark Knight Rises makes its bow in cinemas in July. The Green Lantern sets are also expected to miss the first wave of releases.
Marvel fans are going to have to wait a little longer than Batfans, as Lego is holding off on releasing the Captain America, Wolverine and Hulk sets until interest the first wave is on the (Bruce) Wane (sorry).
Speaking as a Lego obsessive myself, my advice to you is to not hang about if you?re at all interested in these sets. The Batman Begins Tumbler set quadrupled in value on the day it was discontinued, and a MISB set will now cost you north of ?500 ? that?s more than a tenfold increase in 2 years. If only real bricks (and mortar) appreciated in this way, huh?
