My Bloody Valentine 3D DVD
We have previously reviewed this title here whenit was out at the cinema, but the important question for this Scream Like slasher film is how does the 3D aspect work on DVD.

Answer is the effects are good but points are definitly lost as the old fashion 3D glasses with the red and green filters are used. At the cinema the new Real3d system rocked, the glasses were just like a pair of shades BUT the tech behind this requires special equipment so does not translate to your telly (yet). So out come the red and green filteres specs that were used to ‘shock’ cinema goers back in the 1980s. But although the tech does still work due to the coloured filters you are loosing all colour detail. So what do you want from the film, jumps from the 3D effects and to flinch everytime the pick axe is thrust in your direction, or to actually have a watchable film that hasn’t the coloured tinge?

As the tech isn’t available at the moment I would say keep the 3D in the cinema and just take the film as another slasher film. But as modern slashers go, it isn’t actually that bad.
