Masters of Horror returns with Volume 2 of series 1

Fright fans can look forward to a second helping of the bloody feast of fear that proved to be one of the most anticipated horror DVD releases of last year with the February 2007 release of MASTERS OF HORROR SERIES 1 ?VOLUME 2, a six-disc boxed set featuring six more brand new, one-hour films from some of the greatest directors working in the horror genre today.

Among the films included in this second volume, which completes Series One, is the notorious and controversial Takashi Miike-directed Imprint, the only episode to be banned from cable television broadcast in the USA.

In addition to Miike’s stomach-churning shocker are creepy creations from Dario Argento (Suspiria; Tenebrae), Larry Cohen (Q The Winged Serpent; It’s Alive), Tobe Hooper (Poltergeist; The Texas Chain Saw Massacre), William Malone (FeardotCom; House On Haunted Hill) and John McNaughton (Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer; Wild Things).

Representing a major television event in the US when it began broadcasting on Showtime television, MASTERS OF HORROR is the brainchild of director Mick Garris. As Executive Producer of the series, it was Garris’s intention to provide the opportunity for the world’s leading horror directors to make the films they wanted to make, on their own terms, with no artistic restrictions and no studio interference. The results speak for themselves, with a cutting-edge horror series that pulls no punches when it comes to graphic imagery and edge-of-the-seat terror.

Each disc in the boxed set comes packed with a host of extra features, including audio commentaries, interviews with the directors and stars, “making of” featurettes, director biographies and much more.

MASTERS OF HORROR SERIES 1 ?VOLUME 2 includes six complete episodes from the acclaimed Masters Of Horror series: Jenifer (Dario Argento), Pick Me Up (Larry Cohen), Dance Of The Dead (Tobe Hooper), Fair Haired Child (William Malone), Haeckel’s Tale (John McNaughton) and Imprint (Takashi Miike).

The six disc MASTERS OF HORROR SERIES 1 ?VOLUME 2 will be released on DVD (?4.99) by Anchor Bay UK on 12th February 2007.
