Quickly some WATCHMEN news, I know a lot are excited for when Watchmen comes to the cinema in the UK next month.
Just had news of an event which will be the first chance to see this WATCHMEN adaptation ahead of its UK release.
FUTURE CINEMA presents a spectacular WATCHMEN event which will take place in London on 5th MARCH 2009.
Under the archways in London’s cavernous SeOne Club FUTURE CINEMA will blend cinema, music, live performance and thearter and transport the audience into an alternate 1950s New York, where WATCHMEN characters such as Dr Manhattan, The Comedian and Rorschach?will come to life.
From the visionary director of 300, Zack Synder, WATCHMEN depicts a complex, multi-layered mystery adventure, set in an alternate 1985 America in which costumed superheroes are part of the fabric of everyday society. The ?Doomsday Clock? ? which charts the USA?s tension with the Soviet Union ? is permanently set at five minutes to midnight.
The WATCHMEN graphic novel, originally published by DC Comics, rewrote the rules of the comic and established a literary precedent for the art form, becoming one of Time Magazine’s ?100 Best English Language Novels from 1923 to the Present.?
The FUTURE CINEMA team of performers, installation artists and set designers will capture the true spirit of both the original graphic novel and the new blockbuster film, creating a truly interactive experience. The event also boasts a very exciting surprise performance from one of the UK?s hottest bands.
