Gareth Roberts Signing Dr Who Shada

GARETH ROBERTS will be signing the Doctor Who novel, SHADA (BBC books) at the Forbidden Planet London Megastore on Wednesday 14th March from 6 ? 7pm.

Based on the scripts for the original television series by the legendary Douglas Adams, SHADA retells a Tom Baker era adventure of the Doctor that never made it to the screen in 1979, due to industrial action.

The Doctor’s old friend and fellow Time Lord Professor Chronotis has retired to Cambridge University – where nobody will notice if he lives for centuries. But now he needs help from the Doctor, Romana and K-9. When he left Gallifrey he took with him a few little souvenirs – most of them are harmless. But one of them is extremely dangerous.

Gareth Roberts has written a huge number of Doctor Who spin off titles and has also written scripts for the TV Series and The Sarah Jane Adventures.

He?s written 25 novels for the Black Library, including the acclaimed Gaunt’s Ghosts series and the Eisenhorn and Ranor trilogies, and with Mike Lee, the Darkblade cycle. Nick Frost and Joe Cornish Signing

Forbidden Planet is pleased to announce a signing by NICK FROST & JOE CORNISH to promote their film Attack The Block. They will be at the Forbidden Planet Megastore, 179 Shaftesbury Avenue, London, WC2H 8JR, on Thursday 12th May from 5:20 ? 6pm.

Attack the Block ? an urban gang versus a wave of invading aliens. Trainee nurse Sam is saved from a street gang when they?re distracted by a meteorite ? and then attacked by an undersized alien. The gang chase the creature and kill it, dragging its ghoulish carcass to the top of a nearby tower block.

While police hunt for the gang, a second wave of meteors falls. The gang grabs weapons, mounts bikes and sets out to defend their turf. But this time, the creatures are bigger. Savage, shadowy and bestial, nothing will stand in their way. The estate is about to become a battleground. And the bunch of no-hope kids who just attacked Sam are about to become her, and the block?s, only hope.

Best known for the role of Mike Watt in Spaced, Nick Frost has also worked with Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright in Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and Paul.

Joe Cornish, half of the Adam and Joe Show, is a comedian who?s directorial work has included the pilots of Modern Toss and Blunder. Attack the Block is his film debut.
